B.I.T.C’s Book Club

Can you believe it’s September already?  I swear to God I just shovelled my last sidewalk just a few short weeks ago.  Is this really fair?  I don’t think the summer is near long enough.  It’s like foreplay that never goes anywhere.  It didn’t even really get that hot out.  Cleary there are a lot worse things going on in the world than some cooler weather, but until it hits my boarders I’m bitching about the small stuff.
Aside from the everyday living that is Bruce in the City, it’s that wonderful time of the month when I pick another book off the shelf and get my book club going for another month.  Of course you know I am working my way through the Jane Austen books.  I really enjoyed Sense and Sensibility, a lot more than I expected in fact. It was so good though and got me thinking about a lot of love related things.
Did love like that ever really exists?  I don’t know.  I don’t think I have met anyone who has that kind of love.  Well maybe but it’s hard to say.
So on to the next novel by Jane Austen, “Pride and Prejudice”.  Of course this is a big one.  I guess most people on the planet able to read have read this novel.  So I may be reading it on my own.  Jane began writing Pride and Prejudice in 1796.  Can you imagine that?  1796!  I can barely believe the 1980’s happened.  The novel did not appear in print until 1811 after her success of Sense and… well you get the idea.  Anyway. I’m pretty excited to get this one under my belt so as one would say, “We are off to the races”.  It certainly feels that way when I only have a month to read this stuff.
Enjoy everyone!  You may want to watch another Jane Austen related movie like “Becoming Jane” or “The Jane Austen Book Club”.  Have fun and see you next moth for B.I.T.C’s Book Club!

About Bruce in the City

I have been writing my blog since 2010. I was inspired to do so after enjoying an amazing meal with some friends of mine here in Toronto. I decided to tell everyone about my great night and the fabulous restaurant I went to and shazam my blog was born!
