John’s Hot Beef….

Can we get anymore rain? I am so sick of the rain! Sung best by Tina Turner and her classic rock song “I Can’t Stand The Rain” from her 1984 album “Private Dancer”

“I can’t stand the rain against my window, bringing back sweet memories.

I can’t stand the rain against my window cause he ain’t here with me.” Tina Turner

Well baby I can’t stand the rain, making my hip hurt like a son of  B*&ch!  I actually like rainy days but I think we have had our share of rain for an entire year.  I ache for the patio days to finally arrive “Cocktails and Dreams” but who can sit outside with the sky falling around us day after day.Even the days at work seemed longer this week and I love my career!

When I got up on Saturday to another grey sky I didn’t even bother to look out my window.  I sat at my bedside and literally thought “Really another grey day.” I headed off to the powder room and began the long process of turning back the years with my talent for bronzer and hair glue!! I finally got myself pulled together and headed out to work. I was running a bit later than usual thanks to my lack of vitamin D,B and C and so with my head hung low I shared a good bye and sauntered out the door.

Little did I know my better half was feeling slightly more motivated than I.  My day moved by slowly, though I remained upbeat knowing only I could choose my positive frame of mind.  I kept my eye on the prize and prayed for sunlight.  The room began spinning. I couldn’t pull a joke out of my backside if I tried even one of my co-worker remarked that I had lost my funny! I told her to piss off, hugged her good bye and grinned “See you next Wednesday.”

When I finally arrived home I was greeted with that fantastic motivation I had referred to moments ago!

My better half had a glass of red vintage (La Domeliere Rasteau 2009) and his hot beef ready on a plate just for me and I gotta tell ya it took my breath away!!  There really is nothing like someone who really gets it! Knowing that sometimes all you really need instead of a patio is a home prepared dinner with a fantastic bottle of wine, Hamburger Stroganoff and some Diana Ross on the PVR!!!

Simply scrumptious!  Please enjoy it! You just never know when the sun might shine again!
