Erik: Hey everyone!
It’s great to be back! I actually just got back from BC and spent a lot of time on Vancouver Island checking out the wineries there and seeing how they’re doing and let me tell you there’s some interesting stuff coming out of there. If you ever get a chance to go out there I recommend going to some of the wineries in the Cowichan Valley. Especially the ones further north of the valley near Duncan.
Anyways lets get to the wine. I wanted to pick something with warm oak/spice notes and black fruit flavours to go with lamb and the fall that’s creeping upon us. I might have done this wine in the past but it’s just so good that I’m going to talk about it again!
A beautiful deep ruby colour with notes of of vanilla, smoke, blackberry, black cherry and oak. The wine has a wonderful full body with soft tannins and warm spice, an absolute pleasure to drink! I recommend this wine with braised lamb (Check out Sarah’s blog) or BBQ burgers! Enjoy everyone!
