Wine with Erik

Errazuriz Max Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2015
I was in the LCBO the other day buying wine and I came across this Errazuriz Max Reserva (I think I did a review on their chardonnay a while ago), and I actually didn’t read the label properly (bad Erik) and thought it was the max reserva for their chardonnay. I got home, opened it up and poured a glass and as I brought the wine to my nose I noticed that the aromas of the wine were not matching a chardonnay and smelled more like a sauvignon blanc. Puzzled, I looked at the bottle and that’s when I realized the bottle said sauvignon blanc on it (took me long enough). Now I don’t normally drink sauvignons but this was a pleasant surprise! On the nose there was a lovely aroma of asparagus, green pepper, and grapefruit, while on the palate the wine showed a bit more honey and citrus while still maintaining the wonderful herbal notes. The wine is a nice medium body, dry balanced with crisp acidity, and a long terrific finish. Pair this wine with white fish, chicken or a light fresh salad, or enjoy on its own.

LCBO: $15.95

About Bruce in the City

I have been writing my blog since 2010. I was inspired to do so after enjoying an amazing meal with some friends of mine here in Toronto. I decided to tell everyone about my great night and the fabulous restaurant I went to and shazam my blog was born!
